Master Key Master Mind Alliance Week 22 – I’m a Live Wire

This week, in Charles Haanel’s, Master Key System, I read the following:

3. This is because the Infinite Mind, which is the source from which all things proceed, is one and indivisible, and each individual is a channel whereby this Eternal Energy is being manifested. Our ability to think is our ability to act upon this Universal Substance, and what we think is what is created or produced in the objective world.

4. The result of this discovery is nothing less than marvelous, and means that mind is extraordinary in quality, limitless in quantity, and contains possibilities without number. To become conscious of this power is to become a ”live wire”; it has the same effect as placing an ordinary wire in contact with a wire that is charged. The Universal is the live wire. It carries power sufficient to meet every situation which may arise in the life of every individual. When the individual mind touches the Universal Mind it receives all the power it requires. This is the world within. All science recognizes the reality of this world, and all power is contingent upon our recognition of this world.

I believe that the Universal Mind is God.  So, God “…is the source from which all things proceed…”, and, “Our ability to think is our ability to act upon this Universal Substance…” (our 15 plus minutes sitting quietly, and connecting with God).  In case you didn’t get it, in our quiet time, is when we connect with God, and tap into His power.

In addition, Haanel says, “To become conscious of this power is to become a ‘live wire’, it has the same effect as placing an ordinary wire in contact with a wire that is charged.” This brought an image to my mind.

Imagine if you would, all the devices in your home that run on electricity.  Like people, they all have a purpose, they were created for something specific.  A can opener cannot play music.  An electric shaver can’t illuminate a room.  They all have something that they are specifically made to do, and the thing that powers them is electricity.

We, as human beings, work the same way.  We are all different, and made for very specific things. Consider Mother Theresa, Michael Jordan, Abraham Lincoln, and Bill Gates.  They all have specific talents; they were each created for a specific purpose.

Once the devices in your home are plugged in to the power source, BAM, they carry out what they were created to do.  The can opener opens cans.  The electric shaver shaves a face.  The light illuminates the room, and so on.

We, in the Master Key Master Mind Alliance, have our purpose, and we now know how to connect to our source of power (in our quiet time).  Now that we can connect directly to Universal Mind (God), we are prepared to serve our purpose whether it’s rescuing dogs, working with the elderly, being the greatest mom, or what have you.  We are directly connected to our power source, and that’s when the magic happens.  Miraculous, and astounding things now happen in our lives.  Things that we never thought possible, nor that we could foresee.

I thank God for his Divinity, and for allowing us, His creations access to His unlimited power.  Also, I’m thankful that in the Master Key Master Mind Alliance, we are learning to plug in to Him.

Master Key Master Mind Alliance Week 21 – There’s Power in Prayer

(First off, I’d like to apologize to those of you who frequent my blog, as I was late getting this posted.  I was actually on a cruise with the boss… Uh, I mean my wife, so I got to it as soon as I could.  Thanks for stopping by, and here you go.)  :)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
MKMMA memeSometimes, and I’m assuming that it’s the same for most people, I don’t completely grasp a concept like I thought I did, but then I hear an analogy, example, or story that puts it all into perspective. This happened to me while studying the Master Key System this week. In the introduction to chapter 21, Haanel writes the following:
In paragraph 8 you will find that everything which we hold in our consciousness for any length of time becomes impressed upon our subconsciousness and so becomes a pattern which the creative energy will wave into our life and environment. This is the secret of the wonderful power of prayer.
And in paragraph 8, Haanel wrote:
8. When we realize these facts concerning mind we understand how we may bring ourselves any condition by creating the corresponding conditions in our consciousness, because everything which is held for any length of time in the consciousness, eventually becomes impressed upon the subconscious and thus becomes a pattern which the creative energy will wave into the life and environment of the individual.
Master Key System - Power of PrayerThis helped me to realize that my prayers have not been laser focused, like the rays of the sun shining through a magnifying glass and creating heat, hot enough to start a fire (energy).  Yes, I pray to God (Our omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent creator), in Jesus’ name; however, something in those sentences made me come to the realization that just “praying” a few words, which usually takes me about 3 – 5 minutes is not how to pray.  The key is focus, and concentration.
In the Bible, 1 Thessalonians 5:17, it says, “Pray without ceasing.”
I thus realized that I prayed briefly, and not commonly with fervor, as I should.  This is where God’s power lies.
In addition, in Philippians 4:6, it states, “Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.”
That means that you need to ask, and pray, with focus and concentration, on the things you desire.  Which leads me to another thought if I may.  The Bible is filled with thought about love, and kindness, and the Master Key Master Mind Alliance is in agreement with His (God’s) teaching.  In fact, my favorite affirmation that we say on a daily basis goes like this:
I promise to keep these four promises.
I promise that wherever I go I bring a gift.  I may bring a compliment, trinket, prayer, flower, but I promise I will give something to every person I encounter.
I promise to be a grateful receiver of the gifts that surround me, noticing nature, kindness, smiles and compliments, which I gladly receive with at “thank you”.
I promise to give the hope for joy, affluence, kindness and love, consciously with every encounter, regardless of brevity.
I promise to give without expectation of reciprocity from the channels I enrich, because I know I am in the dynamic flow of giving and receiving.
I always keep my promises,
Edward Rubi
kindnessThis affirmation speaks of love, kindness, and giving.  It’s exercises like this, that Mark Januszewski has us do in the Master Key Master Mind Alliance that shows me how different this is than any other “self development” course I’ve taken.  Mark and Davene have created something special, that is making me a better Christian, and improving other people lives in different ways.  I thank God that He led me to this course, because it has made our relationship stronger.
Lastly, and this is like icing on the cake in this post.  Here is a video of Mark J, showing people in Kauai, Hawaii some love, on behalf of the 200 + members of the Master Key Master Mind Alliance.  Thank you Mark, Davene, and Trish the Dish too, for all you do. This is a life changer for those that have remained devout.
Master Key Master Mind Alliance Week 16 – Be the Watchman
As I did my exercises this week, and read through the Master Key System, one line from the book stuck in my head.  It’s the first half, of the sentence starting at chapter 16, paragraph 30.
“You will readily see that what we think determines the quality of mind…”
What is the quality of your mind?  On what things do you hold your thoughts?  What do you let into your mind, and what thoughts make it into your subconscious to stay?  Where did these thoughts come from, and how did they get there?
I’ve thought hard about these questions since reading that line in the Master Key System.
Influence - Master Key Master Mind AllianceWhen we are born, our initial thoughts are fed to us by our parents, or whoever raises us from infancy.  Then, as we get older, our friends tend to influence us, and put thoughts into our minds.  We may also be influenced by other relatives, teachers, coaches, the books we read, the media, the internet, billboards, radio, strangers and so on.
Rarely, do we stop to relax our minds, and truly think.  For most of us, the white noise is constantly entering our ears, and then our minds, and many times those thoughts go to live in our subconscious.  We are bombarded with people’s opinions, people trying to sell us things, both material things, and ideas.  A constant din, that after a while, we accept as the norm.  Then we die?
Really?  Is that all there is?  Social influence, and then we’re gone?  In an instant?
The Master Key Master Mind Alliance, has taught me that it doesn’t have to be this way. We, as human beings, can choose what ideas and thoughts to accept into our conscious minds, and ultimately allow to live in our subconscious minds.  In a previous post, I mentioned that the Master Key System states that the conscious mind, is “the watchman at the gate, of the great subconscious domain”.  For example someone says something negative to themselves like, “I’m so stupid, I’m so stupid, I’m so stupid”, it will go to live in your subby, and actually become a part of you.  So, watch your self talk, you have a choice as to what you think about.
Remember: The Law of Substitution
We cannot think about 2 things at the same time.  If a negative thought enters your mind, try to think about God instead.  If that’s too big a reach at the time, use any fond memory or other pleasant thought.  Jesus, the Master Teacher, said, “Resist not evil”, meaning turn from it, and think about something else instead.
Your subconscious can also be influenced by your environment.  You’ve heard, “If you lay with dogs, you’ll wake up with fleas”, yes?  If you start hanging around people who cuss up a storm, then you will soon find yourself doing the same.  If you hang out with people that are violent, you will soon find that you are desensitized to it, and it won’t even bother you anymore.  If you hang out with drug users, then… Well, you get it.
Bad News - Master Key SystemThe media, in my opinion, is the worst.  They have a way of influencing the public.  They can fabricate a news story and make you believe something that’s not true.  When they’re not doing that, most of what is shown on TV is negative.  Someone was beat up, someone was robbed, someone was shot and killed.  Did you ever notice that a news broadcast never starts on a positive note, but ALWAYS on something negative.  People soon learn to thrive on misery, and it becomes the norm.
I can go on, and on, but I’ll stop there.  I’m sure you get it.  ”The watchman at the gate” of your great subconscious mind has to always be on high alert.  You’re bombarded daily, and soon you don’t even notice the constant din.
I’ll end this post with a challenge to you.  This week we, in the Master Key Master Mind Alliance, were instructed to look for kindness around us, as we go about our day.  We were then required to go to our Master Key Master Mind Alliance website, and post at least two acts of kindness that we witnessed, or did that day.  Last time I checked, there were 2,186 comments about kindness going on from all over the world, as our MKMMA members span the globe.  AWESOME!!!
Have you ever noticed that when you buy a new car, even though you never noticed your model before, you suddenly see you car model everywhere?  It’s the same with our kindness exercise.  When you start looking for kindness, and being more kind, you’ll see it. But it works the other way too, if you pay attention to nasty, bitter, sour people; you will soon see them everywhere, and start acting like them, and then it will be your reality your norm.
MKMMA - Watchman
The choice IS yours; Oh watchman at the gate!
Master Key Master Mind Alliance Week 13 – A Realization, Pleasure and Pain
Week 13 of the Master Key Master Mind Alliance takes place during Christmastime, and I find that fact kind of ironic.  The number 13 is said to be an unlucky number, but Christmas is a time when we reflect on what God did for us, in that He sacrificed his only Son so that our sins would be forgiven.  Christ is the sacrificial Lamb of God, and our Savior.
Ok, enough of my observations.  This week of the MKMMA was very interesting.  I learned 3 things that are just awesome, and I may never have realized these things had it not been for the Master Key Master Mind Alliance.
First, being that it was Christmas, I learned where I got my old blueprint from.  I learned how much influence my family has had on me all these years, and that some of these traits I like, but many I do not.  Some of these traits stick out like a sore thumb now, and in the past, I never even noticed them.  They are things that I’ve observed all my life, and emulated (unconsciously), but since doing the MKMMA exercises my mindset has changed, and I now realize that I don’t want those behaviors in my own life.  WOW!  It was a shocking, but welcomed experience for me.
Second, I’ve discovered how much these Master Key Master Mind Alliance exercises have really changed me, and have become a part of me.  It’s not only because of what I observed as I mentioned above, but because of what I’m going to mention in the next paragraph.  This entire experience has blown me away.
The third thing is NARC.  What’s NARC you ask?  NARC stands for Neurological Associative Reactive Conditioning.  This is a way to leverage our minds, and put the pedal to the metal in getting our goals accomplished.
There are two thing that drive us as humans – pleasure and pain.  The desire to have pleasure in our lives, and the need to avoid pain.  These are the motivating factors in our lives, and the following application (NARC), is how we leverage this fact.
We have been drilling our goals, dreams, aspirations into our subconscious for 13 weeks now, and they have become a part of us.  Imagine if someone wanted to rob you of your dreams, and aspirations.  It would be like someone trying to rob you of one of your arms or legs.  You would fight, scratch, pull hair, gouge eyeballs, and do whatever you’d have to do to keep from losing one of your extremities.
So, we’ve been documenting our goals in the form of our dream boards (Movie Poster), our Definite Major Purpose (DMP), and we’ve been reading affirmations three times a day, and writing these blog posts as a journal, along with some other readings.  Now imagine taking all of this, and literally throwing it in the trash.  Something what we are so attached to, and just TRASHING it.  That’s like losing a limb, when it has become so ingrained in your mind.  PAIN!  PAIN!  PAIN!
And when I say literally throw these things in the trash, I mean literally.  Mark instructed us to take all of our materials, and put them in a trashcan.  Just writing this post, and visualizing it, is making my stomach turn.
Next, we are to create a wonderful memory that we can reward ourselves with (pleasure).  I, for example, will have some pictures of when my son and I took a 6 mile hike to a lake, and camped there for a couple of nights.  I have a fond, vivid memory of my son hooking on to a fish while we were fishing, and the surprised look on his face, and how he panicked when the fish hit his bait.  Luckily I have the pictures to use for this exercise.
Now, your goals and aspiration are in the trash (pain), do you want to hang on to them? Then do the things that you know you have to do to reach your goals.  Mine are, call 20 prospects, that I bought from online leads, per week.  Go to 50 businesses and get business cards, so that I can mail letters to them.  Show my business to at least 3 people per week, and a several other tasks that I know will make me successful.
The pleasure comes when, at the end of each day, I finish my tasks.  Then, and only then, can I take my goals out of the trash, and embrace them again.  After rejoicing about being able to do this, I get the pleasure of looking at pictures of me and my son at Lake Valentine in the High Sierra’s, during that awesome trip, and relive the wonderful time that we had there (pleasure).  POWERFUL!!!
Once again, I learned where I got some of my less than desirable habits.  I learned how Much my goals are becoming ingrained in me, and are actually becoming a part of me. And I learned how to leverage pleasure and pain, to reach my goals, and ensure I follow through with the things that I must do to reach them.  Thank you Master Key Master Mind Alliance.
Master Key Master Mind Alliance Week 9 – The Law of Substitution
Character is not a thing of chance, but it is the result of continued effort.  If you are timid, vacillating, self-conscious, or if you are over-anxious or harassed by thoughts of fear or impending danger, remember that is axiomatic that “two things cannot exist in the same place at the same time.”
Exactly the same thing is true in the mental and spiritual world; so that your remedy is plainly to substitute thoughts of courage, power, self-reliance and confidence, for those of fear, lack and limitation.  ~ Charles Haanel
The statements above got me thinking about how most people think.  Most people are programmed by the environment that they exist in.  They are programmed by their parents, their friends, their teachers, their peers, their co-workers, their bosses, and the media.  The list doesn’t end there to be sure.
Our parents, although well meaning, bombard us with words and phrases like, “NO”, “You can’t do that”, “It’s not possible”, and so on, and then along come the “friends”.  Our friends tell us things like, “That’s stupid”, “That can’t be done”, “You can’t do that, and so on.  Enter the teachers, “Oh, Bob, that’s impossible”, “Finish your education, and get a good job”, “You are not as smart as Sara”, and on and on.  I can go on to peers, co-workers, bosses, and the media, but you get the idea.
For 20 – 60 years we are programmed by society to conform to the “norm”, and for what end result?  To be like everyone else; is that really what we want?  When we were kids, did we say, “When I grow up, I want to work in a cubicle for 45 years, and retire broke”?  No, we wanted to be Superman, and save the world.  I personally wanted to be a doctor, and save lives.
What ends up happening is that we mold ourselves into society, because we want to be accepted by the people that we know.  We get hammered with all the negativity, and debauchery flowing from the media.  All this, day after day, for years, and then what? We lose sight of our dreams, aspirations, and hope that we had as young children. Our light is eventually smothered, and we are left in a dim world, without the color of courage, power, self-reliance and confidence.  Things we had as children; however, all is not lost.
The Law of Substitution states that we cannot think about two things at the same time. This is exactly what the statements by Haanel, which I started this post with, is saying to us.  First, he says, “two things cannot exist in the same place at the same time”, and second he states, “your remedy is plainly to substitute courage, power, self-reliance and confidence”, then things we desire in our life, “for those of fear, lack, and limitation”, then things most of us are programmed with, and don’t want in our lives.
I know now that the law of substitution is true.  Since starting the Master Key Master Mind Alliance course, I’ve learned about this law and have been using it with great success.  Substitute the thoughts you want to entertain, for those that are harmful, and don’t you like fear, lack, and limitation.  You have a choice, you can dwell in other people’s reality, or flourish using the law of substitution.
Master Key Master Mind Alliance Week 3 – This Little Light Of Mine, I’m Gonna Let It Shine
In the Blueprint Builder, that Mark Januszewski has us read everyday, it states, “I will eliminate hatred, envy, jealousy, selfishness, and cynicism, by developing love for all humanity, because I know that a negative attitude toward others can never bring me success.”  This is something that for the most part, comes easy to me.  I love most people, but people who cross me well, that’s another story; however, I had a breakthrough this week.
Cabin - Master Key SystemLast Christmas my in-laws rented a cabin, and invited the family over for the holiday.  I’m a bit of a prankster, and I noticed my brother-in-laws camera sitting on an end table while we were all at the cabin.  Incidentally, my brother-in-law, who I will refer to as Carl from this point on, is pretty much a prankster like myself.  So, I grabbed the camera, and when they weren’t looking, I took some goofy pictures of myself, and put the camera back where I found it.
When “Carl” noticed the new pictures on his camera, he decided to put them on facebook.  Well, I didn’t want them on facebook, so I asked him to remove them from the site, but he would not.  Everyone notices how upset I got, and his wife made him remove the pictures.  He was not happy, and I was still ticked at him when it came time to go to bed.  During the night I had time to think about what I did, and how I reacted to him, so decided to apologize in the morning.
When I found him alone in the kitchen, I approached him, and told him that I was sorry.  In the middle of my apology, he put his hand up and told me that I had better walk away.  I tried to talk to him further, but he just kept his hand up, and stated the same thing.  Uh, this was Christmas morning by the way.
To make a long story short, he exited the kitchen, started taking his things out of the rented cabin, and packing his car to leave.  His immediate family did not want to leave, and up until that point, were having a great time.  Words were also exchanged between my mother-in-law, and Carl, and in an effort to keep this post rated PG, I won’t give you the details of their conversation.  Let’s just say it wasn’t nice.  Then he made his family get in the car, and they all left.
Christmas - Master Key SystemI have been so mad at him since that Christmas day, but recently, something in my heart/subconscious mind shifted.  I decided to thank him for a “get well” card that he and his wife sent me.  I did this via facebook, of all things, and I decided to let it go, and it wasn’t so bad.  We actually had a conversation via facebook messenger.  The reason that I held on to this anger, was because of the fact that “Carl” never apologized to me, or my mother-in-law for the cabin incident.
This is one of many things that the Bible says about forgiveness:
And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you. ~ Ephesians 4:32 (NKJV)
Peace - Master Key SystemSometimes this can be hard to do for some people, and it’s especially hard for me when I see that my enemy has not only wronged me, but also wronged someone else that I care about.  I believe; however, that having been saturated in the reading of the Blueprint Builder, the Master Key System, and The Greatest Salesman in the World, has helped me to be more forgiving.
Lastly, in this third week of the Master Key System, Charles Haanel writes that the brain is the organ where we receive and process conscious thought.  When the conscious mind has been satisfied that a thought is true, it is then sent to the Solar Plexus which is the organ where we process, and retain, subconscious thought.  Here, it accepts what the conscious mind feeds it, as true without any argument whatsoever.
That being said, when we have thoughts that are unpleasant, like hatred, or animosity for someone, like I did, this is like a cloud hanging over the Solar Plexus, which also has been known likened to the “sun” of the body.  What happens when the sun is covered by clouds?  No sunshine, and no warmth, and in the case of the Solar Plexus, no radiation of good energy coming from us.
That is my breakthrough, and for this I’m grateful.  I’m learning to love everyone, including people who don’t like me, or people who have wronged me.  In this way, I’m going to let my light shine, and radiate my vision for my life.
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven. Matthew 5:16 (NKJV)
